We do more than fund good ideas.

Communities can be big or small, tight-knit or sprawling. Every community is different. But one thing they all have in common is that people in communities don’t always have access to the same opportunities. There are always people who are hungry or living in food deserts, people who can’t access good housing, support, or the information they need to succeed. They seek better education and services to live a better quality of life.

Problems we solve

Our work is all about about better access — to better food, better housing, better education, better information, and a better quality of life.

Community

Cities with strong communities are often more successful. Cohesive communities promote a healthy sense of belonging and resident engagement, leading to economic growth, improved quality of life, and higher levels of civic participation.

From city parks to museums, we envision collaborative partnerships that build stronger communities — collective spaces that encourage the kind of positive growth that helps real people.

Food and housing

Quality food and housing empowers communities. And when people have access to those two basic needs, their life changes for the better. Our city is dotted with food deserts and sub-par, unaffordable housing.

We partner with nonprofit organizations that not only feed people good, fresh food, but they educate and inspire people to participate in a better food movement. Other partnerships include groups working to end youth homelessness by providing safe environments and services to get them homes.

Education

Having access to information is powerful. Acquiring better knowledge can lead to better health, better relationships, and a better quality of life.

From navigating single parenthood and crisis intervention to mentoring parents and caregivers of autistic children, we partner with organizations that help guide people throughout life’s ups and downs.

Approach

We are a different kind of family foundation. For one, you will be working with our actual family. Second, our application process is simple and easy. There’s no lengthy grant writing or waiting period. We make our decisions based on our focus areas, your organization’s ability to lead and stay focused, and the impact you could make. If you’re confident, we’re confident we can meet you where you are and do the work alongside you to make real change in our community.
